Southern Terminus: NY 34, Van Etten
Northern Terminus: NY 14, Montour Falls
Length: 19.77 miles (31.83 km)
Orientation: North-South
Counties: Chemung, Schuyler
Cities: None
Villages: Odessa, Montour Falls
Towns: Van Etten, Cayuta, Catharine, Montour
Name(s): Morton Rd., Main St., Clawson Blvd.
History: The original alignment of NY 224 began at the current intersection with NY 223.
Recommendation:

Signing NY 224 as an East-West highway. We also recommend extending the designation east along the current NY 34 and NY 96 alignments to Candor. NY 224 would duplex NY 34 between Van Etten and Spencer, and would replace the NY 96 designation between Spencer and Candor as NY 96 would be realigned along NY 96B between Ithaca and Candor.
