| History: |
Much of I-390 was built during the 1970s. Completed sections were signed as I-390 in 1974 (The Wayland-Dansville section was originally designated NY 401), and the last sections were completed in 1982. I-390 was intended to run along an alignment running parallel to Clinton Ave., ending at I-490 in downtown Rochester. NIMBYs would cause the death of that plan in the mid 1970s and I-390 would take on its current alignment in the area in 1980. |
