History:



NY 353 was originally assigned to what is now Cattaraugus CR 58 between Dayton and Perrysburg. In 1962, NY 353 was extended south along its current alignment when it replaced part of NY 18's southwestern extension. The original section north of Dayton was decommssioned in 1980.
