Until 2009, the northern end of NY 590 was located at Culver Rd. near the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge. The northern terminus was truncated by 1½ miles to Titus Ave. when the non-expressway section of NY 590 was rebuilt and reduced from four lanes to two.
