History: |
NY 88's southern terminus was originally located at NY 332 in Canandaigua. NY 88 duplexed with NY 96, then followed the length of NY 488 before duplexing with NY 21 into Canandaigua. NY 88's southern terminus was moved to its present location in August 1972. |
Recommendation: |
Renumbering NY 88 to eliminate the duplication with Interstate 88. According to multiple sources, NYSDOT has had plans to renumber NY 88 as NY 382. We recommend that the reassignment take place as soon as possible. |
